Re: Val Werier's column, Those aspen shelter ancient spirits (Dec. 12).
Mr. Werier has been conned like the rest of us who were previous supporters of the S.O.S. (Save Our Seine) He should read the S.O.S. March 2001 plan developed by Gaboury Prefontaine Perry in regards to "Bois des Esprits."

This detailed report proposes an interpretive "commercial" canoeing and hiking corridor consisting of the following: coffee shop, bakery, classrooms, gift shop, bike, ski, skate and canoe rental, festival tents, skating rink, washrooms, outdoors staging area, parking, five canoe docks, footbridge, picnic tables, hotel (inn), 15 site tent campground and parking areas.

The quoted expected attendance of 120,000 visitors per year will eradicate the forest, the wildlife, the spirit and the security and quality of life of the hundreds of seniors and others that live on the banks of the Seine River.
