Dave Danyluk is with Save our Seine, and says the
remaining force that has to be protected or purchased amounts
to about $900,000.
"There were no details on how that money would be
generated or set aside, or where it's coming from," he says. "That's
what SOS was willing, wanting to hear, that specifically. So,
we think now with the province helping, maybe there's more options
to explore."
Seine River MLA Theresa Oswald, speaking on behalf
of Premier Gary Doer, says to date, the province had contributed
$150,000 and Save our Seine gave $115,000 to the project.
The city and province met Monday to fill the gap.
Oswald says the province contributed an additional $75,000.
