A local environmental group has been recognized by Canadian Geographic magazine for its commitment to the earth. Save Our Seine aims to preserve and protect the natural terrain in and around the Seine River by improving water quality, raising awareness about the area's history and lobbying government and private industry for better environmental thinking.
The magazine honoured Save Our Seine with a 2004 Canadian Environment Award for its achievements in community environmental action.
