Yes, Save Our Seine requires resources everyday. Greenings, Cleanings and Trail Maintenance use equipment and materials. SOS initiatives require weeks of preparation and communication, printing, postage and other day-to-day costs, all necessary to keep the community and other stakeholders connected and assure successful completion of projects. Our annual single-day volunteer events require hundreds of dollars for insurance purposes alone.

"The ultimate test of man's conscience may be his willingness to sacrifice somewthing today for future generations, whose words of thanks will not be heard."

– Gaylord Nelson, Founder of Earth Day

SAVE OUR SEINE RIVER ENVIRONMENT INC. IS A NON-PROFIT, VOLUNTEER BASED, STEWARDSHIP GROUP

Save Our Seine greatly appreciates the vital support from the community and all sources of funding. Different levels of government and non-governmental organizations and private citizens fund annual Tree Planting, River Cleanups or Trail Maintenance. Save Our Seine's commitment to the protection and preservation of the Seine River Environment can only be realized though their generous support.

Projects undertaken by Save Our Seine require a great deal of resources, both human and financial, in order to be successful. SOS strives to keep the operational cost the lowest possible while still keeping the members and community informed of its activities and increasing public awareness.

SOS must thank the volunteer Board of Directors who contribute hundreds of hours each year to make all efforts a success.

In June 1996, Save Our Seine River Environment Inc. became a charitable organization and can therefore accept contributions towards its many projects and issue federal tax receipts.

Urban Green Team:
Each year SOS finds five of the hardest working students and lets them loose along the 56 kilometers of the Seine's urban Riverbanks. The results of their dedicated 'labour of love' are incredible improvements to the Seine River's Habitat. Each summer the Team ensures that past plantings get watered, trails are maintained and new trees are planted. Illegally dumped building materials, shopping carts, tires, bicycles and log jams are removed. The positive impacts are noticeable by the day! In addition to supplementing wages, materials and tools must be purchased by Save Our Seine. Bug repellant and Sunscreen alone can cost hundreds of dollars each summer!
