- Annual Greening and Cleanings since 1990.

- SOS Coordinates an Urban Green Team of up to 5 summer students each summer who clean and green the river and banks.

- Successfully lobbied the Provincial Government to repair the siphon allowing the Seine River to cross the Red River Floodway. By repairing the leak in 2000, water levels increased from up to 10 cubic feet more water per second.

- Participated as members of the City of Winnipeg's Seine River Task Force and supported the task force's Seine River Greenway Study. This award-winning document was accepted by City Council in 2000, and is now a guideline for SOS projects and efforts.

- Riffle construction project. For many years SOS has promoted the Riffle project and worked with many departments within the federal, provincial and municipal governments to make this a reality. Now with the funding and approvals necessary, SOS expects to have the first set of riffles to be installed during the winter of 2003/2004.

- Winnipeg Development Agreement (WDA)- SOS carried out a project to restore and beautify the environment along the Seine River. Under the $262,000 project, some work included removal of debris, riverbank stabilization, planting native trees and shrubs and planting native habitat grasses.

- Old St. Boniface - developed 3 kilometers of walkway along the Seine River from Provencher Blvd to Youville Street. This project was part of the Winnipeg Development Agreement. The $55,000 walkway project was completed in the spring of 1998.

- SOS has worked with the members of the community involved with the St. Boniface Building Communities Initiative. The group has allocated $200,000 (of the $2.1 Million fund) to construct a footbridge connecting walkways and joining the communities on the east and west sides of the Seine River. SOS has formed a committee to oversee this project.

- St.Vital Walkways - SOS is working with the City's department of Property Planning and Development, the Morrow Gospel Church, the future Hindu Temple and several Condominium Complexes along the West side of the Seine River to integrate the walkways and link to other walking paths (Golden Way path and the Bishop Grandin Greenway Trail)

- Bois des Esprits Park Plan (March 2000) through Federal funding SOS partnered with Riel Corporation and worked with the landscape architects Gaboury Prefontaine Perry (GPP) to design a natural park area that offers passive recreational, educational and historical amenities to the community. With the City of Winnipeg, SOS is currently involved in a fundraising effort to raise funds to purchase and protect the 100 year-old river bottom, Oak Forest. The vestiges of Ox-bow lakes and unique natural features and size of this 'A' Quality habitat make it an "ecological jewel" within the city.
