The Save Our Seine River Keepers have completed another summer of looking after our favourite urban river. The team had a very productive summer despite the unique challenges of working as a team in a COVID-19 world.
This year, the team was comprised of Caleb Fenez (Stewardship & Education Coordinator), Madeline Mitchell (Habitat Technician), June Njenga, Walker Giesbrecht, Chris Penner, Amandine Kern, and Emily Thoroski. Together, they worked to clean up garbage from the river, fought back against invasive plant species, and helped to keep the trails and river open and accessible to the public, among many other tasks.
You can read a detailed report on the team's activities here. It provides great insight into the work being done to protect and preserve the urban Seine River corridor.
SOS looks forward to continuing the River Keepers program for many years to come!
