On September 13, more than 35 participants plus several walk-ins joined us for Walking Gently: Learning from Plants Along the Seine River, a one-hour guided walk through the beautiful Bois-des-Esprits.

A big shout-out to our amazing consultants Eclectic Communications and the Save Our Seine (SOS) team for creating such a meaningful and inspiring experience! Their knowledge, guidance, and passion for connecting people to the land made this event truly special.
It was such a gorgeous day. Mother Nature wholeheartedly supported our event with sunshine and calm energy. The smudging ceremony and herbal tea circle created a heartwarming space where people could pause, reflect, and share in community.
I was also glad to connect with several SOS board directors and community participants, sharing details about upcoming events and hearing their gratitude for Save Our Seine’s work. Many expressed how much they’re looking forward to joining future gatherings, a wonderful reminder of the impact these events have in bringing people together and deepening connections with the river.
Along the way, participants:
Learned about native and naturalized plants along the Seine and their traditional uses.
Listened to Indigenous stories that highlight relationships with land and water.
Reflected on how plants support healing, well-being, and river health.
Enjoyed a calming tea circle to close the walk.
This event was part of Phase 2 of SOS’s Urban Restoration and Enhancement Initiative: Connecting People to Nature, which links ecological restoration along the Seine with education and community engagement.
Thank you to everyone who came out and walked with us. Your presence shows the power of community and the importance of protecting our river and its living ecosystems. 🌱💧
👉 Stay tuned for more upcoming events and opportunities to connect with the Seine River!
